Course Description

Do you have a curiosity about how the body works? Are you unsatisfied by anatomical explanations that seem contradictory, unnecessarily complicated, or oversimplified? Do different yoga teacher tell you to do poses contradictory or even painful ways? Put an end to all the conflicting messages and just get the facts according to research and physical therapy.

Understanding your body’s biomechanics is very important to prevent injury, and to maximize performance, especially  in yoga. Biomechanics is the study of the movement and structures of the body. The study of biomechanics within yoga considers how muscles, bones, joints, and more work together to create postures, movements, and shapes.

Yoga is considered sacred geometric shapes. You will see the research for yourself, learn the poses, and even how to apply them to people with special needs like the injured and post surgical people. This population might include you or someone you love. You will learn variations for seniors, children, and for people in a chair. Join us on this exciting journey through the human body.

This course is an independent certification.
It is also a required course of the
Yoga Teacher Training & Lifestyle Medicine Certifications.
