  • Restorative Sleep

  • Social Connections

  • Avoidance of Risky Substances

  • Stress Management

With Dr. Kim’s two focus areas, together, we take control of

all six pillars directly and indirectly for mental and

physical health.

Whole Health & Reaching your Purpose/Dream is simple. A + B = C

 A =  Brain/Body physical activity, B = Brain Re-mapping, C = Lifestyle Medicine

Physical Therapy

meets…

  • Pilates: core strength, spine support with strong mind to body unification practice.

  • Yoga: mind, body, spirit unification practice with strength, flexibility, and balance.

  • Tai Chi: heavy in balance and joint motion improvements, it challenges the mind by requiring mind control and present moment work throughout.

This repairs the strength, flexibility, and balance of your physical body, reducing pain and improving function. Western PT knows how to target specific issues and Eastern movement styles contain fast and powerful solutions.

Besides being powerful contributors to strength, flexibility, and balance the following three wisdom arts chosen have individual strength and each need to be performed daily.

Dr. Kim makes it easy.

Dr. Kim is a hard working board-certified physical therapist for hospitals, out-patient clinics, home health, ICUs, and skilled

nursing facilities nationally and internationally. She collaborates and consults with fellow therapist, nurses, and physicians daily, (2009).  She is the founder of Firm Water Road, a lifestyle medicine education system for all (2020).

The system sprung from her national continuing education courses for healthcare professionals. For three years, she taught these courses in every major US city (2014-2017). Each week she was in a different state, and taught in three cities. See reviews. Some of the 15,000 healthcare professionals she taught in the one day course continued to her yoga certification for healthcare professionals course.

In 2019, Kim was a keynote speaker at the American Physical Therapy Association’s annual education conference in Seattle, WA and at Harvard University. Attendees were physical therapy professors. Kim spoke about her passion: the bio-psycho-social medical model for best practice and how to apply it in medical clinics

About Kim’s Eastern Credentials

Beginning in 1996, Dr. Kim taught over 12,000 yoga classes before she became a physical therapist. Kim studied yoga under national level master teachers in Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Anusara, Restorative, Nidra, Forrest, and Swatantrya yoga styles. She is certified on all Pilates machines and the mat, 1997. She is new to Tai Chi, but absolutely loves it!

Dr. Kim is also certified in Rapid Transformational Therapy®, the famous Marisa Peer Method of Hypnotherapy used by

celebrities, business people, and elite athletes to dismantle and overcome psychological obstacles/traumas. While working at West Point Military Academy as a physical therapist, she learned Battlefield Acupuncture®.

Kim’s meditation styles include Nidra, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Tibetan meditation. She learned Tibetan meditation from the Buddhist monks when she lived and worked at the hospital in Bhutan. Her prayer techniques are based on the mystical teachings of the Christian Saints.

Kim’s personal religion is Catholicism. She has spent a lifetime studying the Saints and their teachings. Her psychology electives at Harvard were world religion courses. During her undergraduate college work, she studied Biblical Greek for four years and translated most of the New Testament Bible from it’s original language. She attends mass every morning, and has taught yoga regularly to the retired nun convent in Colorado Springs, CO and the African nun convent in Kilimanjaro. Kim has worked alongside Mother Teresa’s nuns in her Houses of Kolkata, India. She considers the nuns to be her close friends and mentors.

Where to see her work:

Dr. Kim authored The Therapy Bible on Yoga plus three additional books available on Amazon. She also produced over 50 yoga videos to treat specific diagnoses, all filmed in Aspen, CO. They are viewable for free on her YouTube Channel. Four of her original research papers can be found published on Research Gate. Kim’s website is FirmWaterRoad.com You can sign up for her newsletter or social media outlets there, too.
